There was a fire that completely gutted the Wardrobe Store in the early 90's. The store and wardrobe teaching space was a wooden structure next to the Masefield and behind the Barn, approx. where the steel deck store is now). The complete stock of college costumes was destroyed and had to be started again from scratch.

Do you think this might have been in what was the summer house? There was a thatched cottage on the premises and that burnt down,
because the comment was that its thatched roof contributed to its demise. Or are we just unfortunate with regard to fires?

I would like to be in touch with anyone who can advise me about the details of Rose Bruford’s time at Central School, and also of her connection to mime. 

My reason is that I am researching Irene Mawer (1893-1962) and am keen to further discover the links between the two women.
